Twitch Co-Founder Justin Kan Launches Gaming NFTs Marketplace called Fractal.
Twitch co-founder Justin Kan also joins the trend and comes up with his own NFT project called Fractal. Fractal will serve as a marketplace for gaming NFTs where players can buy and sell without any worry of security and transparency.
Fractal’s founder Kan said that the company will focus on transparency and security of the digital ledger of blockchain for authentication of digital assets. Fractal’s sole purpose of built will revolve around gaming NFTs and it aims to become a top gaming NFT’s market.
NFTs are yet another way to earn real money from games and are playing a key role in in-game monetization. Plenty of new projects getting launched and investors have poured in a lot of money. New startups like Dapper Labs, Sky Mavis, Mythical Games, Animoca Brands, are some of the names. NFTs took off in popularity after NBA Top Shot’s digital art sold for the first time.
Since then it was no stopping the game’s NFT’s as it topped $780 million since launch.
Quarterly reports on gaming NFTs are astonishing, to say the least. The first quarter saw a figure of $1.2 billion, the second quarter recorded $1.3 billion, the third quarter saw the biggest surge with $10.7 billion.
Kan further added that the company has already made agreements and understanding with gaming studios that will add NFT’s to the platform. Players will be able to buy gaming NFTs directly from the platform, he said, “Whether its starships or magical swords or characters that are playable in NFT games, we want to be a primary and secondary marketplace.
Kan further added, “I’m not particularly that interested in creating a marketplace where people are gambling on prices going up and speculating on NFT’s,” Kan said. “I think what’s really interesting is how NFTs interact with the world and how people build experiences on top of NFTs that can go beyond the game.
Maybe you can craft an awesome sword and lend it out like someone renting a Ferrari for a birthday.”
