Ladies and gentlemen, Epic Games has just pulled out an event.

The Vault, which led to a massive 61 million monthly active users on its store, the Epic Games Store.

The Vault was a free game giveaway campaign that started on the 14th of May and ended on the 18th of June. Havas Media was hired to manage and market this game giveaway campaign. And it turned out that they did a great job.

Epic Games took to its Twitter account and announced that “The Vault has been opened.” The Vault gave several gaming titles for free some of them were blockbuster games like; Grand Theft Auto V, Civilization VI, Ark: Survival Evolved, and Borderlands: the handsome collection.

These games were available for free to the users of the Epic Games Store.

Epic Games Event The Vault 2020 led to a massive 61 million monthly active users

The Vault campaign provided a much needed and major boost to the store setting new user milestones ceiling; Peak Concurrent Users on PC of 13million and Monthly Active Users of 61million. And guess what, these figures have lessened the gap between Steam and Epic.

The General Manager of Epic Games Store, Steve Allison, talking to media said, “Since launching the Epic Games Store, we’ve always wanted to create a huge event around our very successful Free Games weekly program to give something awesome to players worldwide, and we decided to go big.”

Well, that is for sure that the results have exceeded their expectations this year, a historic growth, no doubt about it.

Though it is evident that Grand Theft Auto V giveaway played a pivotal role in attracting gamers and in popularity of the Epic Games Store, these numbers are still rookie numbers when compared to its major rival, Steam.

This year in March, Valve’s broke its record with more than 23.5 million concurrent users, thanks to the worldwide lockdown due to COVID19, gaming has hit new heights.
