Far Cry 6 & Ubisoft

Ladies and gentlemen, what feels like an eternity of wait, Ubisoft has finally revealed the next Far Cry game. Far Cry 6 is in a politically charged environment and is a huge expansion in terms of new characters, elements, and playground. The game was revealed a couple of days ago in Ubisoft’s Forward live-stream event and is scheduled to hit the market on February 2021.

Far Cry 6 World Premiere Trailer Revealed and What to Expect

You all must be aware of Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito, an ultimate villain, he is playing the role of an evil dictator and central antagonist in the game. The game is about politics, fascism, modern guerilla revolution and guerilla warfare, and took a lot of inspiration from Cuba. The developers spent almost a month circumnavigating Cuba, its culture, people, music, and environment. To provide vivid detail and enhance player experience, the developers also met Cuban ex-guerrilla fighters and interviewed them.

After watching the trailer, it wasn’t hard to correlate it with contemporary times; citizen fighting riot cops, toppling statues and rejecting systemic oppression. Although it will certainly grab the attention of gamers but the previous FC game kind of disappointed. Fingers crossed, it is hoped that Far Cry 6 won’t fall into the same footsteps as its predecessors did, not doing justice to the high-fi themes and imagery of the game and ending without giving a strong closure.

Far Cry 6 will include third-person cut scenes that will show players how their character fits into the revolution. It will also feature a full performance capture and voice acting of the protagonist Dani Rojas. The cinematics will show the personal side of the revolution and the players will get to experience it up close and personal. As of me, I will be keenly following Far Cry 6 in the coming months and how its theme unfolds gradually. FC6 will be released in multiple versions and PC, PS5, XBOX Series X, Google Stadia, and current-gen consoles. I can’t wait to head down to the island of Yara and stand against the brutal dictator Anton Castillo, what about you?
