Plarium has a strong and considerable base of both mobile and PC games. Now, the studio is further expanding into the casual mobile sector by acquiring Finland’s Futureplay. Futureplay has extensive experience in mobile game development. Some of its considerable games are Idle Farming Empire, Merge Gardens, and Battlelands Royale. The deal is set to close later this month, however, there aren’t many details about the deal’s monetary aspect.

Speaking on the acquisition of Futureplay, the CEO of Plarium Aviram Steinhart said that the addition of Futureplay will have a strong impact on the company. Moreover, it will also play its role in the diversification of games as well as strengthening the company’s portfolio.

Steinhart said, “What we have found in Futureplay is a group of impressively talented and experienced developers that share a similar vision to ours in a segment that is complementary to ours, P-larium’s decade of experience in the midcore games [sector] and Futureplay’s innate understanding of casual games, will blend well together. We will be able to combine different areas of expertise, strengths, and fortes to introduce new games to our respective fanbases.”

Futureplay has a strong community of gamers and it boasts over 140 million users for its six games. Moreover, its social media channels have more than 2.1 million followers. The acquisition will result in knowledge, expertise, and resources collaboration which will further expand Futureplay’s casual game portfolio.
