Netflix’s interest in gaming is not new, previously it launched Bandersnatch, a gaming programming project. However, back in April Netflix’s chief operating officer hinted that Netflix is making advancements in gaming. He said, “We’re trying to figure out what are all these different ways … we can deepen that fandom, and certainly games are a really interesting component of that. There’s no doubt that games are going to be an important form of entertainment and an important modality to deepen that fan experience.”

As for Virtual Reality gaming, there is a lot of hype surrounding it as being the next big thing in gaming. However, there is still plenty of doubt surrounding the idea of it becoming a regular household item. Still, Netflix officials have expressed strong interest in the field but cautiously. As of recently, Netflix said that it would adopt a wait and watch policy regarding VR and see how things go.
With this new deal in place, the day isn’t far when we see and play VR and video games on Netflix.
